Accounting for teas at matches
Wellington BC
These should be added up before any money has been taken for catering costs or money paid to the bar for raffle prizes.
Example
We have a friendly match of four triples:
Tea Money there should be 12 home players each paying £1.50 (for tea and biscuits) making a total of £18.
Raffle money if every ticket is sold there will be 24 people paying a £1 so a total of £24.
Catering costs for say milk and biscuits could be £3.30 and £3.70 making a total of £7.00. You should provide receipts where possible.
You pay half the raffle money to the bar for prizes so £12.00.
So your money slip should have the following information:
Catering Income £18.00 Raffle Income £24.00. Total Income (£18.00 + £24.00) = £42.00
Catering Costs £7.00. Raffle Costs. £12.00. Total Costs (£7.00 + £12.00) = £19.00
Net Catering £11.00. Net Raffle. £12.00. Net Total. = £23.00
We realise that this may seem like a lot of work, but we need this information for the accounts and the auditor wants to see this data.
Thanks for you help and understanding on this matter.
